Whatsapp Now Allows Users To Make Video Calls

Though Whatsapp hasn’t begun ang their latest feature, the new beta versions of its Android app has the ability to make video calls. If you and your friend are both on the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, you will now see “Video Call” and “Voice Call” options when you hit the dialer button on top. Do note that the feature is still in early stage, so the video feed could stutter at times.

WhatsApp is rolling out support for video calls in the Android app, but not everyone has the feature yet. This is one of the biggest updates of WhatsApp.

To get this feature, you will need to grab the latest beta version of WhatsApp on the official beta testing program on Google Play. Then again, you can also download the latest beta build of WhatsApp from third-party site APKMirror. Ensure that you version 2.16.318 or higher of WhatsApp.

When you have video calling, tapping the call button or contact card brings up a dialog with both voice and video as options. There may be a version of the app later that flips the switch on video calls automatically, but for now you’re at the mercy of the WhatsApp gods.
