3 Startups to Represent Zimbabwe At Seedstars World 2017
Seedstars World in partnership with Impact Hub Harare hosted the first ever Seedstars Zimbabwe in Harare.
Seedstars World is a startup investment organisation that focuses on fast-growing markets and emerging startup scenes because there is a tremendous amount of untapped and global opportunities, and passionate entrepreneurs waiting to be discovered.
The event which was held at the Dicovereum on 31st of October saw 12 local startups battling it out for the three spots to represent Zimbabwe at the Seedstars Summit 2017 on April 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The startups that pitched at the event includes Zivai, Potea ,Dr CADx ,Round Technologies ,MoneySmart ,PENYA Finance ,BizeX ,Road Rules Solutions ,Ignite Africa,iFarm,Hurudza Africa and Hurukuro.
And out of the twelve contestants only three made it to the Seedstars Summit 2017.
The startups which made it in to the top three were:
Dr CADx: a computer aided diagnostic system to help doctors diagnose medical images more accurately and save lives.
Road Rules Solutions: A highly interactive and intelligent mobile application revolutionising the way people acquire driver’s licenses in Africa
Round Technologies: a B2B e-commerce platform that allows tuck-shops to order stock directly from manufacturers, by-passing wholesalers.
Seedstars World has already chosen winners in Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast Mali, and Ethiopia.
The top Startups from Africa will proceed to the global final to pitch for up to US$1 million in equity investment.
