Last year ,MultiChoice upgraded its DStv Now streaming service, by dumping Adobe Flash in favour of HTML5. MultiChoice today (24/02/2017) has also expanded its DStv Now streaming service to more subscribers.
The streaming service has only been available to DStv Premium clients with an active personal video recorder (PVR) decoder.
DStv Now offers 60 channels for streaming. It was only available to DStv Premium subscribers with an active personal video recorder (PVR) subscription. However, the service has now been made accessible to all DStv Premium subscribers, irrespective of whether you have a PVR or not.
The service now does “on-the-fly” encoding with multiple digital rights management technologies supported.
The library includes the M-Net Movie Collection, which offers a thousand movies that are updated weekly, MultiChoice said in a statement.
DStv Now can be accessed online or through the app for tablets and smartphones. The app is free to download on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and is available to all DStv customers.
The streamed channels include all of SuperSport, E! Entertainment, VUZU Amp, VUZU, Fox Entertainment, BET, M-Net City, NatGeo, Nat Geo Wild, Mzanzi Wethu, Mzansi Bioscope, kykNET Nou!, SuperSport 7, SuperSport 8, SuperSport 9, M-Net Movies Zone, MTV Base and M-Net Family, with DStv Now proving a popular way for consumers to catch a game when they’re away from their TV.
To access the service, subscribers need to register for a Connect ID on DStv’s website.
