Victoria Falls Joins Ethiopian Airline Network

Ethiopian Airlines will start a direct flight between Addis Ababa and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe this Sunday 26 March, 2017, and has also opened an office in the resort town.

The new route between Addis Ababa and Victoria Falls will operate four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The Victoria Falls operation will be linked to Gaborone, Botswana. This will see the airline increase its operations to Botswana.

The primer of nonstop flights to Victoria Falls will no doubt increase the amount of tourists entering and discovering Zimbabwe’s beauty .

In December a new state-of-the-art Victoria Falls International Airport was commissioned following an upgrade, which began in February 2013 and with a budget of approximately $150 million. The new airport has a 4km long runway, a brand-spanking-new international terminal building, and a new control tower.

Ever since the revamping of Victoria Falls International Airport many fights have taken interest of the Victoria route. This month SA Airlink (Airlink), proclaimed that it will start offering a daily flight from Cape Town to Victoria Falls in July. Kenya Airways has also showed interest and will start the Nairobi, Vic Falls and Cape Town from May.

Ethiopian also offers special fares for tour packages to the major African tourist destinations such as Mombasa, Nairobi, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Dar-Es-Salaam but also to Johannesburg, Maputo and Cairo.
