State-Owned telecoms firm, Telone, today has launch two products which will help the transformation from a fixed network operator to a broadband company. Telone continues to introduce value-added services for their users with the aim of allowing them to enjoy the benefits of the internet in every aspect of their lifestyle.
The state-run operator unveiled WIFI HOME & AWAY.The product allows customers to access Telone Wife Hotspots, on the go as they would at home using their home data bundle.
WIFI HOME & AWAY is a value-added service that offers convenience while giving its users an unrivaled service, which continues to make WIFI HOME & AWAY the most valuable internet service on the Zimbabwean market.
Wifi Home and Away enables people to access over 200 Wifi hotspots countrywide, making the Telone broadband “mobile”.
Speaking at the product launch, Telone Managing Director, Mrs. Chipo Mtasa said “as a service provider of choice, product and service agility to ensure unparalleled customer experience has become critical for our business. It is there for with excitement that we have to ensure that our home broadband customers are able to use their credentials to access service at any of our Wi-Fi hotspots countrywide.”
“The service will be further will be further strengthened as we are set to increase our hotspots to over 600 by year-end.” She added
It offers the user a means to enjoy their home internet service away from home at no extra cost.
Last month, Telone launched 100% extra data promotion to users who subscribed for their internet for 4 months straight.
“We have introduced Pre-paid Voice Bundle which has seen our voice tariffs going down by as much as 80%. This has made our voice cost even lower than the cost of some Over the Top services like WhatsApp among others” Mrs. Mtasa said.
The Voice Bundles price starts from $5 for 200 minutes on-net (Telone to Telone) and 50 minutes off-net calls, with $10 you get 450 minutes on-net and 100 off-net. The highest denomination is $20 and you get 950 on-net and 200 off-net calls.
TelOne, yesterday announced new phone codes for major cities across as part of a national broadband project aimed at ensuring customers get more from landlines.
TelOne has set new area codes for Harare from 04 to new code 024 prefixing number 2 (existing number), Bulawayo from 09 to new code 029 prefixing number 2 (existing number), Gweru from 054 to 0254 prefixing number 2, Beitbridge from 0286 to 085 prefixing number 23 (existing number).
