Huawei has announced the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, two new phones that occupy the highest end of its line-up. The Mate 10 phones see the Chinese giant get on board with the skinny-bezel trend of 2017 while leveraging its ability in silicon design to supposedly improve AI-related performance.
Disruptive innovation often starting with bold dreams. Huawei introduced its first AI mobile chipset, the Kirin 970. The Huawei Mate 10 Series, which will open the door to new AI mobile applications. The Huawei Mate 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 10 are breakthrough AI devices that combine innovative hardware, the Kirin 970 chipset and EMUI 8.0. The Huawei Mate 10 Series continues its legacy of superior product performance and long-lasting battery life, while integrating New Leica Dual Camera technology.
Usually, the Mate series has been where Huawei has thrown caution to the wind and packed as much tech as it can into the handsets and that hasn’t changed.
Inside is a Kirin 970 chipset which touts an octacore ARM Cortex CPU, a Mali G72 GPU (which has 12 cores) and a Neural Network Processing Unit. That’s right the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.
Huawei has said that not only will the AI on its handset help users with features like AI Accelerated Translator but the capabilities will be opened to third parties to create new AI applications.
“New AI-powered Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition, which automatically chooses camera settings based on the object and scene, supports an advanced AI-powered Digital Zoom function with AI Motion Detection for clearer and sharper pictures,” said Huawei.
According to a source to Huawei Zimbabwe, the source said Huawei Zimbabwe will not be importing phones into the country, but dealers will be importing the new phones into the country.
Techunzipped could not get a comment from dealers as to when the phone will be the country. And also since the foreign currency shortage will have a great impact on the importation of the phones into the country.
There is no word on price just yet but Zimbabwe will be among the last in the world to get their hands on the latest Huawei smartphones. Zimbabwe’s prevailing cash crisis has escalated, with queues noticeable at many banking halls in Harare.
