NetOne Lowers SIM Card Prices

NetOne has reduced the price of its SIM cards from $1 to 50 cents effective the 4th of April. The new offering from NetOne now offers the new subscribers value more than 4 times the price they would have paid.

The Executive Marketing and PR of NetOne Dr Eldrette Shereni said, “As a customer centric organisation, we headed the calls of Zimbabweans at large and our subscribers in particular. Access to mobile connectivity is now more of a human right than anything else. We noted that the gateway to the various benefits of the mobile communications is the SIM card. So to increase the mobile penetration rate across the country and increase our subscriber base, we have reduced the price of our SIM cards,”.

Dr. Shereni said the new pricing was accompanied by benefits as a welcome to the new customers who will purchase the sim cards.

“The new SIM is pregnant with value as we have added on some free voice, SMS and data as a welcome to our new subscribers on the network.

“There are 5 free on-net minutes, 20 free SMSs and 5Mbs of free data to get you on the go as you update your loved ones of your new contact number. These benefits are valid for 24 hours after activation of the SIM card”, she said.

Dr. Shereni said , “As an institution owned by the Government, we don’t want to leave anyone out so we are saying for a dollar, you get your own and one for your loved one. With our on – net rates our promise is that you will enjoy the best rates as you connect to those closest to you. We shall continue to listen to our various stakeholders as we pursue various initiatives premised to make you enjoy seamless connectivity.”

NetOne has been on an extensive drive to grow their subscriber base as seen by their aggressive recruitment of brand ambassadors since last year to take its products to the market. The products offering has also been growing with the latest addition being their OneMoney service which was introduced sometime late last year.
