First Female CEO For Liquid Telecom Shines

Liquid Telecom, a leading independent data, voice and IP provider in Africa has appointed the first female Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Telecom Zambia Susan M’kandawire Mulikita so as to promote market penetration and growth nationwide in Zambia.

Mulikita is the first female to have authority over such a leading post in this leading pan-African telecoms group with most high posts being held by the SADC regional CEO, Wellington Makamure (Zimbabwe) Reshaad Sha (South Africa), Mohamed Abdel Bassit ( West Africa) and Adil Youssefi ( East Africa).

According to Makamure, the SADC regional CEO, such a high rank marks a new exciting stage in Liquid Telecom’s master plan to build Africa’s digital future. He furthermore emphasized that Mulikita’s great experience will bring greater fellowship to SADC. This will allow more clients to sponsor on Liquid Telecom connectivity, hosting, co-location and digital solutions portfolio and further drive growth and innovation. The appointment of Mulikita is very significant as it directs Liquid Telecom’s focus on diversity and inclusiveness.

Apart from being a graduate of the University of Zambia with a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Master of Laws (ICT) with Buckinghamshire New University (UK), Mulikita is also a qualified practitioner of Telecoms/ICT Policy, Law, Regulation and Management. The new CEO has more than 20 years of experience in the ICT sector, managing both private sector and public organizations senior positions. For instance, she was responsible for ICT law, policy, regulation, telecommunications and stakeholder management for Airtel.

Liquid Telecom provides good standard service with the aim to compete successfully in the Zambian ICT and telecoms platform. According to Mulikita, she is looking forward to working in conjunction with the government and other stakeholders in delivering an innovative and compelling ICT and telecoms services.
