WhatsApp has recently rolled out an update for its web application that has become one of the popular methods of instant messaging worldwide thereby improving its security fixes which includes picture-in-picture support.
However there is need to constantly upgrade the application to meet the growing demand and also security reasons.
The recently added feature is available in version 0.3.2041 of the service. Picture In Picture feature is accessible for videos hosted in numerous platforms including Instagram, Streamable, Facebook and Youtube.
In order to see how this
feature works, one need to send or receive a message that has a link of a video
hosted on one of those services mentioned earlier, WhatsApp will show a preview
of the video in the bubble and if you press it, WhatsApp presents the video in Picture
in Picture style.
WhatsApp also gives the option
to shift the chat without closing the Picture-in-Picture feature while it
plays.
To use the new feature, the
following steps allow one to upgrade to 0.3.2041 version.
How to update WhatsApp to enjoy
the new feature:
Android: Go to Play Store, then
tap Menu > My apps & games. Tap
UPDATE next to WhatsApp Messenger.
Alternatively, go to Play Store
and search for WhatsApp. Tap UPDATE under WhatsApp Messenger.
iPhone: Go to App Store, then
tap Updates. Tap UPDATE next to WhatsApp Messenger.

and search for WhatsApp. Tap UPDATE next to WhatsApp Messenger.
Windows Phone 8.1: Go to Store,
then tap More > my apps > WhatsApp
> update.

Microsoft Store, then tap the menu icon in the top left corner > My Library.
Tap Update next to WhatsApp.
