Fixed telecom operator, Telone has rolled out its 4G LTE mobile service to customers in selected areas. Under the 4G/LTE technology, users will get high-speed internet. Two weeks ago we broke the news that Telone was working on unveiling the service.
Speaking to a source close to the development said the customers
can now buy the LTE services at any Telone shop.
The source said that coverage will be expanded to the major
metros in Zimbabwe over the course of 2020.
Currently areas covered included Avondale, Borrowdale, Mt
Pleasant, Marlborough, Avondale West, Highlands, Westgate, Ruwa, Kuwadzana,
Budiriro Glenview, Chitungwiza, Southerton but its selected areas.
Fixed-LTE is the connectivity method of choice for many Zimbabwean
households which cannot get fibre-to-the-home services.
The service offers subscribers a high-speed, low-latency solution
with fairly high monthly usage limits at a much better rate than traditional
mobile data products.
