Telecommunications giant NetOne’s mobile money platform, OneMoney continues to give its subscriber base value, through promotions. This follows the introduction of a new promotion dubbed “One Money 50% Bonus Airtime”, in addition to “One Top-Up” that gives mobile subscribers discounted airtime.
NetOne adopted a “Back to Basics Strategy” premised on their pillars of quality distribution, quality contact center, quality network and quality balance sheet. The renewed focus at the mobile telecommunications giant has resulted in customers deriving more value, throughout 2019 despite increase in tariffs across the industry.
According to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ)’s abridged second quarter report for 2019, One Money grew by 7.3% from 312,223 active mobile subscriptions to 335,132. The gain represented 0.1% in overall market share. In addition, One Money’s new products expanded into the salary payments category to broaden revenue streams.
One Money recently stepped in to offer a solution to the Salary Service Bureau (SSB) through facilitation of advance salary payments for civil servants. Through their bulk payments platform, termed “OnePay”, which is a secure bulk payment service, any entity can process multiple wallet payments which are credited instantly to the respective OneMoney registered users.
NetOne has recently launched “One Money 50% Bonus Airtime” promotion, which gives a whopping 50% discount to customers purchasing airtime with a value of 10 dollars and above, using the OneMoney platform. The bonus of 50% is redeemable as airtime for On-Net and Off-Net calls, with a validity of 24hours. The promotion will run for one (1) month from 12 November 2019 to 12 December 2019.

OneMoney has created value for its customer base through a ZimSwitch-enabled debit card that has become highly popular in the current cashlite economy. The debit card is strengthened by the ability to make interbank transfers across all banks active on the ZIPIT platform.
Furthermore, customers can also do cardless merchant purchases without the need for their phone from integrated point of sale machines nationwide, a feature which has revolutionized and redefined the shopping experience. One simply needs to input their phone number and pin code on the POS machine and simply shop and go. One Money Subscribers can also purchase prepaid tokens and pay their utility bills on the go.
