State Owned Mobile Telecommunications company, NetOne continues to unleash promotions as we head into the festive season. Their latest offering “Refer & Win” gives subscribers an opportunity to win 1GB worth of data when they refer their friends and family to switch over to NetOne.
The year 2019 has seen a reinvigorated NetOne under the stewardship of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lazarus Muchenje. The innovative CEO has turned the tables at the parastatal by adopting “Back To Basics” approach, in order to win over the hearts and minds of Zimbabwe. The approach emphasizes Quality Network, Quality Distribution, Quality Contact Centre and Quality Balance Sheet as key to regaining lost market share.
According to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ)’s abridged second-quarter report for 2019, NetOne’s active mobile subscribers increased by 6,1%, representing the largest portion amongst all the mobile players. Their mobile financial arm, One Money grew by 7.3% from 312,223 active mobile subscriptions to 335,132. These are clear signs that NetOne is fast becoming a force to reckon with in the mobile telecommunications sector.
- “Refer & Win” is a promotion that rewards subscribers for inviting their friends to purchase a new NetOne line. Upon purchasing the NetOne line the friend takes a “selfie” in the shop and posts on their Facebook/Twitter account tagging the @netonecellular handles using the hashtag #CrossOverToNetOne.
- The friend then sends the subscriber, their new NetOne number and the shop from which they bought it from. The subscriber will, in turn, send the details to the NetOne Facebook and Twitter inbox with the hashtag #CrossedOver. After verification, the subscriber receives 1GB valid for 24 hours.
Contacted for comment NetOne Head Public Relations, Dr. Eldrette Shereni said: “The promotion seeks to complement our current nationwide campaign where all new subscribers who join NetOne receive $2 worth of free airtime upon purchasing a NetOne line. We are cognizant of the increased social media participation of our subscribers, hence the introduction of this campaign which runs from 13 November 2019 to 13 December 2019. As NetOne, we felt it necessary to reward our subscribers with a gig of data, as they encourage their friends and family to cross over. NetOne continues to offer its subscribers an opportunity to experience our quality network, as well as superfast data speeds which remains the backbone of our customer-centric offers.”
