The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has approved a 200% percent tariff adjustment for fixed network operator, Telone.
Yesterday, TelOne, increased its tariffs by 200 percent citing escalating operating costs and the need to maintain quality digital services.
Telone advised its customers that the regulator
had approved its tariff hikes.
“Please be advised that as per approvals granted by the Potraz, Telone rates will be increased by 199,35 percent effective 6 November 2019, This increase has been necessitated by our continued desire to provide world-class connectivity and digital solutions to you our valued customers,” it said.
The mobile network services provider issued
an increment for data bundle prices on 9 and 23 August, on 23 September, 15
October and now the 29th of October.
These tariff evaluations have led to the
suffering of most people, especially considering that they have been issued at
a time where fuel has also gone up to every Monday.
This has affected most business processes
as most companies rely on the services of these mobile network operators.
