NetOne Announces *519# SMS Platform To Buy Airtime

Government owned telecom network,  Netone has introduced *519# a platform that enables everyone around the country to access airtime any time.

Addressing delegates during the *519# launch in Harare last night, Netone’s acting Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Nyaradzai Shoko said the development was made to continue a good relationship between netone and their customers.

“As NetOne, we have always understood that our ability to offer value to our customers depends on the quality of the partners we have.” He added.

“Imagine earning a discount simply because you have bought airtime to sell.  These are just a few of the advantages that *519# has to offer.The world is changing fast, and technology is the tool that will drive that change.”  Mr Shoko said.

Dealers and vendors will get an 11% float discount when they make a purchase from NetOne. It may be down to the dealer to assess how much of the discount they will then pass to the vendor.

Using the new platform vendors can change their dealer at any time. This offers flexibility to the vendors so that if the situation doesn’t suit them then they can just switch. Vendors will also get access to a web portal where they can view their sales reports over a set number of transactions.
