NetOne Gives Subscribers 10% Discount For Buying Airtime With OneMoney

Telcom operator, NetOne, has introduced a new 10% percent bonus airtime promotion for its OneMoney subscribers.

One Top-Up gives a 10% discount to customers purchasing airtime using the OneMoney platform and NetOne is positioning the product as more than just an incentive for customers as they are marketing it as something for savvy subscribers to make money from.

The promotion will run from today for the whole year. In its fourth-quarter report, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe indicated that One Money grew by 7.3 percent from 312,223 active mobile subscriptions to 335,132. The gain represented 0.1 percent in overall market share.

“The discount applies to airtime only and does not include direct data purchases. However, a person can buy airtime using OneMoney, receive their discount, and convert their airtime to data. This is not a short-term promotion, as it will run until further notice.” Netone said.

We have no doubts this will continue to encourage growth as NetOne saw over 29.2% increase in OneMoney subscribers last year, allowing NetOne’s mobile money arm to pass 400 000 users for the first time.

OneMoney has created value for its customer base through a ZimSwitch-enabled debit card that has been embraced by the cashlite economy.

The debit card is strengthened by the ability to make interbank transfers to all banks on the ZimSwitch platform. One Money also allows for cardless merchant purchases without the need of one’s handset from an integrated point of sale machines nationwide, a feature that has revolutionized and redefined the shopping experience.
