Zambia Bans Vehicles Transiting By Road

Zambia Revenue Authority will not allow vehicles transiting as cargo to be driven across the country, with effect from 1 January 2022.
Anyone importing a car, including Zimbabweans who often drive newly purchased cars from Tanzania via Zambia, must use a vehicle carrier.
In 2016 Zambia’s passed a law banning thousands of vehicles from travelling at night in an effort to cut the country’s shocking traffic accident rate.
